The Gateway for Accelerated Innovation in Nuclear (GAIN) is a U.S. Department of Energy initiative which operates out of Idaho National Laboratory. It provides a framework for establishing private-public partnerships and access to government support that moves innovative nuclear energy technologies — for both advanced reactors and the existing nuclear fleet — toward commercialization to assist and educate those new to nuclear on its benefits, applications, and role in our clean future energy transition. For nearly a decade, GAIN has built a unique bridge between the DOE and the advanced nuclear community, focusing on simplifying access to national laboratory resources, collaborating across the industry to address high-priority needs, and accelerating work with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission for advanced reactor licensing.
The Nuclear Energy Institute’s (NEI) mission is to promote the use and growth of nuclear energy through efficient operations and effective policy. NEI accomplishes this by providing a unified industry voice within the U.S. before Congress, the executive branch, state and local legislatures, and federal regulators, as well as before international organizations and venues, on key policy issues.
