Course Synopsis

 

This course is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of
regional transmission organizations (RTOs) in North America.

Attendees will develop a solid understanding of…

  • how and why RTOs were created
  • what their many functions are today
  • how transmission planning is conducted
  • how resource adequacy is managed
  • how the system maintains operational reliability
  • how financial markets operate

The course will end with a discussion of current issues facing RTOs today and tomorrow.

 

Registration includes breaks, lunches, reception and access to electronic materials.
CEU certificates will be emailed upon completion of the course.

  • WPUI reserves the right to cancel this course, substitute speakers, and make other changes to this program or agenda at any time. We recommended that you periodically check this webpage to learn whether any changes have been made.
  • Regional Transmission Organization Fundamentals program registration fees are as follows:
    • Registrations received before 3/30/2020:
      • WPUI member — $900
      • Non-member — $1200
    • Registrations received 3/30/2020 and after:
      • Add $100 to each fee level
    • Registration cancellation:
      • Cancellations received 03.30.2020 and before will be refunded 75% less a service fee.
      • Cancellations received between 03.31.2020 and 04.05.2020 will be refunded 50% less a service fee.
      • Cancellations received 04.06.2020 and after will not be refunded.
    • Cancellations must be made by emailing WPUI.
    • You may transfer your registration to a colleague at your place of employment before 10.03.2019 with no penalty. Registration transfers must be made by emailing WPUI.
